Yaeyama Narrow-Mouthed Toad (original publication). 


Yaeyama group of islands in the southern Ryukyus, Japan. 


In the Microhyla fissipes group, the sister taxon of Microhyla mixtura, but previously confused with Microhyla okinavensis according to the original publication. See comments under Microhyla okinavensis for older literature of possible relevance
