Microhyla (Microhyla) nepenthicola Das and Haas, 2010, Zootaxa, 2571: 40. Holotype: ZRC A.12431, by original designation. Type locality: "from near 1,000 feet marker, Summit Trail, Gunung Serapi (01°36′24″N, 110°11′24″E [WGS84]), Kubah National Park, Matang Range, Sarawak, East Malaysia (Borneo); altitude ca. 300 m asl." 

Microhyla nephenticola — Zainudin and Alaudin, 2018, Malaysian Appl. Biol., 47: 15. Incorrect subsequent spelling.

Removed from the synonymy of Microhyla borneensis by Gorin, Solovyeva, Hasan, Okamiya, Karunarathna, Pawangkhanant, de Silva, Juthong, Milto, Nguyen, Suwannapoom, Haas, Bickford, Das, and Poyarkov, 2020, PeerJ, 8 (e9411): 29 (who placed it in their Microhyla achatina group), where it had been placed by Matsui, 2011, Zootaxa, 2814: 39. Haas, Das, Hertwig, Bublies, and Schulz-Schaeffer, 2022, Guide to the Tadpoles of Borneo: 309–311, summarized the knowledge of habitat, reproduction, larval morphology and coloration.
