External morphology, coloration, and molecular markers discussed in the original publication. Nguyen, Liu, Tran, Tran, Trofimets, Dau, and Poyarkov, 2024, Herpetozoa, Wien, 37: 111–121, discussed the diagnostic characters of the species and confirmed records from Cat Ba National Park, Hai Phong, Vietnam, and Cuc Phuong National Park, Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
