Distribution

Known from several localities on Hainan Island, China, in Yinggeling National Nature Reserve and Jiaxi Nature Reserve, at elevations of 160 to 1470 m elevation; possibly extending to central Laos and central Vietnam (see comment).

Comment

The sister taxon of Micryletta steinegeri according to the original publication, where molecular markers, external morphology, natural history, and distribution were discussed. Sankar, Law, Law, Shivaram, Abraham, and Chan, 2022, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 72: 457–467, and Cao, Suwannapoom, Kilunda, Gao, Wu, Wu, and Che, 2024, Zoosyst. Evol., 100: 1361–1373, provisionally regarded the specimens from Laos and Vietnam as Micryletta cf. immaculata pending further molecular assays.
