Phrynomantis nasuta Methuen and Hewitt, 1913, Ann. Transvaal Mus., 4: 122. Holotype: TMP 1317, by original designation. Type locality: "a pool at Kraikluft in the Great Karas Mountains at an altitude of 5000 feet", Namibia. The possibility of relationship with Phrynomantis annectans noted by Hewitt, 1926, Ann. S. Afr. Mus., 20: 488. Synonymy by Parker, 1936, Novit. Zool., 40: 143; Loveridge, 1936, Field Mus. Nat. Hist. Publ., Zool. Ser., 22: 111.
