Zool., 42: 63, and museum records; BMNH 1947.2.19.94, one of two adults, regarded as "Type" by Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 328, apparently in error, the other specimen being numbered BMNH 1947.2.18.55, by museum records; BMNH 1947.2.18.56 (formerly 1873.4.30.17) noted as lectotype by Cogger, Cameron, and Cogger, 1983, Zool. Cat. Aust., Amph. Rept., 1: 23. Type locality: "from the Castlereagh River", New South Wales, Australia.
