Comment

See Tyler, 1985, Herpetol. Rev., 16: 69; Australian Society of Herpetologists, 1987, Bull. Zool. Nomencl., 44: 116–121; Tyler, 1988, Bull. Zool. Nomencl., 45: 152; Holthius, 1988, Bull. Zool. Nomencl., 45 and decision by ICZN (Anonymous, 1991, Bull. Zool. Nomencl., 48: 337–338). Prior to the resurrection of the genus by Mahony, Donnellan, and Richards in Donnellan, Mahony, Esquerré, Brennan, Price, Lemmon, Lemmon, Günther, Monis, Bertozzi, Keogh, Shea, and Richards, 2025, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 204(2: zlaf015): 38, most authors regarded Coggerdonia as a synonym of Litoria. Donnellan et al. (2025) considered Coggerdonia to be a member of the Litoria-Rawlinsonia clade, and formerly the sole member of the Litoria adelaidensis group of Tyler and Davies, 1978, Aust. J. Zool., Suppl. Ser., 27 (63): 1–47.
