Litoria verae Günther, 2004, Zool. Abh. Staatl. Mus. Tierkd. Dresden, 54: 164. Holotype: ZMB 62341, by original designation. Type locality: "Wondiwoi Mts., at the very base of the Wandammen Peninsula about 7 km west of the coast of the Umar Bay, 650 m a.s.l., 2° 56′ S, 134° 38′ E, Papua (formerly Irian Jaya), Province of Indonesia".

Distribution
Known from the type locality at the base of the Wandammen Peninsula as well as Nabire Regency, western Papua (formerly Irian Jaya) (New Guinea), Indonesia; with less confidence a record from the Fakfak Peninsula.

Comment
In the Litoria nigropunctata group according to the original publication. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 118–119, provided a brief account. Oliver, Davie-Rieck, Ramdani, Dashper, Kusuma, Lee, Rittmeyer, Clancy, Hamidy, Thompson, Fouquet, Ferreira, and Richards, 2025, Pacific Conserv. Biol., 31(PC24063): 1–12, as part of a larger discussion of the role of citizen science in documenting species ranges in Melanesia noted that iNaturalist provided a lowland records from the Nabire Regency and (with less confidence) from the Fakfak Peninsula, Papua, Indonesia.
