Ranoidea occidentalis — Temporary placement here (4 July 2016) pending appearance of evidence that recognition of Cyclorana does not render Ranoidea paraphyletic.

Western Water-holding Frog (original publication). 

Distribution

Arid or semi-arid areas of central Western Australia, south from about Karratha in the north to the Kalgoorlie area, and from the coast inland to Well 26 on the Canning Stock Route in the north and Mavis Rock in the south.
