Phrynobatrachus bullans Crutsinger, Pickersgill, Channing, and Moyer, 2004, Afr. Zool., 39: 19. Holotype: PEM A 7495, by original designation. Type locality: "in buffalo wallows along the Great Ruaha River, Tanzania (07° 40′ S, 35° 00′ E)".

Distribution

Southern Ethiopia (Lake Awassa area); southwestern Kenya in Nyanza Province; and northwestern and central Tanzania.

Comment

Most similar to Phrynobatrachus natalensis according to the original publication where morphology and advertisement call were detailed. Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 275–276, and Pickersgill, 2007, Frog Search: 165–167 provided accounts. Zimkus, 2008, Herpetol.
