Phrynobatrachus njiomock Zimkus and Gvoždík, 2013, Zool. Scripta, 42: 604. Holotype: NMP6V 74523/2, by original designation.  Type locality: "CAMEROON, Northwest Province, Mt. Oku, Lake Oku, 06° 12′ 07.6″ N 10° 27′ 33.3″ E, 2219 m elevation". 

English Names

Lake Oku Puddle Frog (original publication). 


Known only from the Kilum-Ijim Forest on Mount Oku (22002400 m elevation), including shores of Lake Oku, a freshwater crater lake found 2219 m above sea level, Cameroon. 


 Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 280–281, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map. In the Phrynobatrachus natalensis group of Goutte, Reyes-Velasco, and Boissinot, 2019, ZooKeys, 824: 53–70. In the Phrynobatracus steindachneri group according to Gvoždík, Nečas, Dolinay, Zimkus, Schmitz, and Fokam, 2020, PeerJ, 8 (e8393): 1–52.
