Phrynobatrachus rillingi Malonza, 2023, J. E. Afr. Nat. Hist., 112: 22. Holotype: NMK-A629/10, by original designation. Type locality: "Nyambene Hills-Meru County . . . . The exact locality is unknown but most of the other herpetological collections at NMK from Nyambene Hills were from areas around Igembe (0°12’S, 37°58’E)".
