Distribution

Southern Bénin and south-eastern Ghana; likely in south-western Nigeria and southern Togo.

Comment

Formerly confused with Ptychadena aequiplicata according to the original publication, where the species were distinguished on the basis of mt- and nu-DNA markers and comparative morphology and morphometrics.  Literature under Ptychadena aequiplicata published prior to 2026 may include information relevant to this new species.
