Comment
Without discussion considered to likely be a junior synonym of adjacent Ptychadena mossambica by Lanza, 1981, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Suppl., 15: 16. This synonymy not accepted by J.L. Perret, personal communication. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 344–345, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
