Distribution

North-westernmost Liberia and south-eastern Guinea, through northern Liberia into central and southern Ivory Coast and southern Ghana, up to the Togo border.

Formerly confused with Ptychadena aequiplicata according to the original publication, where the species were distinguished on the basis of mt- and nu-DNA markers and comparative morphology and morphometrics.
