Amolops chaochin Jiang, Ren, Lyu, and Li in Jiang, Ren, Lyu, Wang, Wang, Lv, Wu, and Li, 2021, Zool. Res., Kunming, 42: 582. Holotype: CIB 116971, by original designation. Type locality: "Jiguanshan (E103.351094°, N30.782583°, 1 179 m a.s.l.), Chongzhou City (county-level city), Chengdu City, Sichuan, China".

Distribution
Mountainous regions along the northern, western, and southern edges of the Sichuan Basin, including Chengdu City (Chongzhou, Dayi, and Dujiangyan), Leshan City (Mount Emei), Mianyan City (Anxian) and Ya’an City (Tianquan); also distributed in Guizhou (Bijie) and Ganzu (Wenxian), China.
Comment
Molecular markers, morphology, advertisement call, and natural history discussed in the original publication, where it was specifically distinguished from Amolops chunganensis, with which it was formerly confused, as well as being placed in the Amolops monticola group.
