Distribution

Clear streams with torrents from Vientiane Province, Laos westward across the Mekong River into Xaignabouli Province, Laos. A population from Nan Province, Thailand, was provisionally referred to this species in the original publication. Wu, Yan, Stuart, Prendini, Suwannapoom, Dahn, Zhang, Cai, Xu, Jiang, Chen, Lemmon, Lemmon, Raxworthy, Orlov, Murphy, and Che, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 144 (106701): 1–13, provided the record (as Amolops cremnobatus) from Thailand.

Comment

Previously confused with Amolops cremnobatus, according to the original publication, where this member of the Amolops larutensis group was distinguished by larval and adult morphology, coloration, and mt- and nuDNA molecular markers.
