Amolops shillong Saikia, Sinha, Shabnam, Lyngkhoi, Pdah, and Dinesh, 2025, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 125: 114. Holotype: V/A/NERC/ZSI/2049, by original designation. Type locality: "Umthlong, Mawlai (25.595801 N, 91.866721 E, 1432 m asl), Shillong, East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya, India".
Common Names
Shillong Cascade Frog (original publication).
Distribution
Currently known from two adjacent localities; Umthlong, Mawlai and Umrynjah, Mawlai in Shillong located in the East Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya, northeastern India.

Comment
In the Amolops indoburmanensis species complex, the sister taxon of Amolops siju according to the original publication, where adult morphology and molecular markers were detailed. Saikia, Sinha, Shabnam, Konwar, Borthakur, and Dinesh, 2026, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 126: 135, provided a molecular tree (16S mtDNA only) that suggests that Amolops shillong and Amolops siju render Amolops indoburmanus paraphyletic.
