Amolops spicalinea Nguyen, Tapley, La, and Rowley, 2025, Zootaxa, 5594: 495. Holotype: ITBCZ 3648, by original designation. Type locality: "found on a tree branch beside a 2.0 m wide, fast flowing, clear, rocky stream in a patch of primary forest dominated by the endemic subspecies of Fansipan fir (Abies delavayi fansipanensis (Q.P.Xiang) Rushforth) on Mount Fansipan, Sa Pa District, Lao Cai Province, Vietnam (N22.29595, E103.80435; 2493 m asl)." Distribution
Known from between 2288–2493 m elevatin at three localities in Lao Cai Province, up to 50 km apart in the Hoang Lien Range (Mount Nam Kang Ho Tao, Mount Fansipan and Mount Pu Ta Leng); it is likely that the new species also occurs in neighboring Lai Chau Province as the collection sites are close to the Lao Cai-Lai Chau Provincial borders.

Comment
The sister taxon of Amolops bellulus, and in the Amolops monticola group, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology and molecular markers were detailed.
