Distribution
Coastal hill region of eastern Guangdong and southern Fujian provinces, China, in in fast-flowing streams, especially near steep waterfalls, surrounded by moist, secondary, subtropical evergreen broadleaved forests.

Comment
Molecular markers and morphology detailed in the original publication where it was noted that the species is in the Amolops daiyuensis group, the sister taxon of Amolops hongkongensis, but had been confused with Amolops daiyunensis by Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2 (Fujian records from Nanjing, Yongding, and Zhao’an) and with Amolops honkongensis by Li, 2011, Amph. Rept. Guangdong (Nan'ao in Guangdong) and by Zeng, Liang, Li, Lyu, Wang, and Zhang, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 146 (106753) (Jiexi, Fengshun, and Pu’ning in Guangdong) prior to the naming of this taxon.
