Amolops tonkinensis — Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 45 (New combination based on undisclosed evidence, while also reporting it might be a senior synonym of Amolops yatseni. Recognized as distinct on the basis of genetic evidence by Wang, Li, Du, Hou, and Yu, 2022, ZooKeys, 1112: 142. See comment.

Removed from the synonymy of Amolops ricketti (where it had been placed by Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 387) by Wang, Li, Du, Hou, and Yu, 2022, ZooKeys, 1112: 142, discussed relationships and mapped the corrected type locality.
