Penner and Rödel, 2007, in Butynski and McCullough (eds.), RAP Bull. Biol. Assessment, 46: 37-41, provided a record for north-central Dem. Rep. Congo, although this record is out of range according to the map provided by Jongsma, Barej, Barratt, Burger, Conradie, Ernst, Greenbaum, Hirschfeld, Leaché, Penner, Portik, Zassi-Boulou, Rödel, and Blackburn, 2018, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 120: 275. Jongsma, Tobi, Dixon-MacCallum, Bamba-Kaya, Yoga, Mbega, Mve Beh, Emrich, and Blackburn, 2017, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 11 (1: e144): 16, provided records for southeastern Gabon and briefly discussed habitat and range. Deichmann, Mulcahy, Vanthomme, Tobi, Wynn, Zimkus, and McDiarmid, 2017, PLoS One, 12 (11: e0187283): 24, reported molecular evidence in support of an unnamed lineage (their Amnirana cf. amnicola") in Rep. Congo. Dewynter, Frétey, Jongsma, Bamba-Kaya, and Pauwels, 2018, Cah. Fondation Biotope, 18: 16, provided a brief account and photographs from the Monts Birougou area of Gabon. Mali, Banda, Chifundera, Badjedjea, Sebe, Lokasola, Ewango, Tungaluna, and Akaibe, 2019, Am. J. Zool., 2: 38–43, reported the species from the Okapi Wildlife Reserve, northeastern Dem. Rep. Congo, although this identification requires molecular confirmation. Dewynter and Frétey, 2019, Cah. Fondation Biotope, 27: 40, summarized the literature for Gabon and provided photographs (p. 66). Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 392–393, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map. See brief account, photographs, and range map for Equatorial Guinea in Sánchez-Vialas, Calvo-Revuelta, Castroviejo-Fisher, and De la Riva, 2020, Proc.
