Distribution
Currently known from two locations, (1) in South East Sumatra, Lampung Province (Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park, Kubu Perahu, West Lampung) and (2) Bengkulu Province (Air Sumur Melintang, Pino Raya, South Bengkulu).

Comment
Adult morphology and molecular markers detailed in the original publication, where a dot map was provided and the species was suggested, on the basis of a fragment of 16s mtDNA, to be the sister taxon of Hylarana hellenae, in the Hylarana signata complex.
