Comment
Prior to the revision of Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297, placed in the Section Hylarana, subsection Hydrophylax, subgenus Sylvirana of Dubois, 1992, Bull. Mens. Soc. Linn. Lyon, 61: 326, although this taxonomy is now superseded. See accounts (as Rana (Hylarana) leptoglossa) by Boulenger, 1920, Rec. Indian Mus., 20: 145; Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 314–316. Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 121, provided a brief account. Orlov, Murphy, Ananjeva, Ryabov, and Ho, 2002, Russ. J. Herpetol., 9: 90, rejected the occurrence of this species in Vietnam, considering that record likely a misidentified Rana nigrovittata. Nutphund, 2001, Amph. Thailand: 101, provided a brief characterization and photograph (which Ohler, 2003, Alytes, 21: 101, did not consider identifiable beyond the association with Sylvirana). Chan-ard, 2003, Photograph. Guide Amph. Thailand: 130–131, provided a very brief account, map for Thailand, and photograph. Dutta, 1997, Amph. India Sri Lanka: 159–160, provided range, systematic comments, and partial taxonomic bibliography. Mahony and Reza, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 350, provided the Mymensingh Division, Bangladesh, record and discussed briefly the range. Lalremsanga, Sailo, Kharbuli, and Hooroo, 2007, Frog Leg, 13: 9–10, reported the species from the state of Mizoram, northeastern India. Ahmed, Das, and Dutta, 2009, Amph. Rept. NE India: 45, provided a brief account for northeastern India. Das and Dutta, 2007, Hamadryad, 31: 154–181, noted no larval descriptions in the literature. Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 81, provided a brief characterization and photograph and suggested that the species had been recorded in Vietnam. Bortamuli, Bordoloi, Ohler, and Grosjean, 2010, J. Nat. Hist., London, 44: 421–445, described external and buccopharyngeal anatomy. Mahony, Hasan, Kabir, Ahmed, and Hossain, 2009, Hamadryad, 34: 80–94, provided a new record for Bangladesh and discussed the known range in that country. Chan-ard, Cota, and Makchai, 2011, Amph. E. Region Thailand: 145, detailed the range in Thailand. Hasan, Khan, and Sumida, 2011, Herpetol. Rev., 42: 562–563, provided a record for northeastern Bangladesh (Sylhet Division) and commented on the range. Mulcahy, Lee, Miller, Chand, Thura, and Zug, 2018, ZooKeys, 757: 95, provided a record from Taninthary Division, southern Myanmar. Niyomwan, Srisom, and Pawangkhanant, 2019, Field Guide Amph. Thailand: 336–337, provided a brief account (description, photographs, habitat, and range) for Thailand (in Thai). Ahmad and Mim, 2020, IRCF Rept. & Amph., 27: 36–41, reported localities from the Bandarban District, southeastern Bangladesh. See comments by Hakim, Trageser, Ghose, Das, Rashid, and Rahman, 2020, Check List, 16: 1239–1268, who reported the species from Lawachara National Park, Sylhet Division, northeastern Bangladesh. Makchai, Chuaynkern, Safoowong, Chuachat, and Cota, 2020, Amph. N. Thailand: 130, provided a brief account, photographs, and a range map for Thailand. Duhzuali, Muansanga, Malsawmdawngliana, Mathipi, Liana, and Lalremsanga, 2021, Reptiles & Amphibians, 28: 437–439, reported intrspecific variation in the 16S mtDNA gene and provided new geographic and elevational records from Mizoram, India. Zug, 2022, Smithson. Contrib. Zool., 653: 37, briefly discussed identification, habitat, and range in Myanmar.
