In the Hylarana flavescens group according to the original publication. Ganesh and Arumugam, 2015, Alytes, 32: 59–65, reported on natural history and range. Ganesh and Arumugam, 2016, Russ. J. Herpetol., 23: 10, briefly discussed specimens from the Shevarou, Kolli, and Sirumalai Hills, Tamil Nadu, India.
