Sreen's Golden-backed Frog (original publication). 


Southern Western and Eastern Ghats in the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, India, at elevations of 100 to 1500 m. 


In the Hylarana flavescens group according to the original publication. Ganesh and Arumugam, 2015, Alytes, 32: 59–65, reported on natural history and range. Ganesh and Arumugam, 2016, Russ. J. Herpetol., 23: 10, briefly discussed specimens from the Shevarou, Kolli, and Sirumalai Hills, Tamil Nadu, India.
