Ecol., 29: 986–1000, discussed systematics and biogeography. Dufresnes, Ambu, Galán, Sequeira, Viesca, Choda, Alvarez, Alard, Suchan, Künzel, Martínez-Solano, Vences, and Nicieza, 2023, Zool. J. Soc., https://doi.org/10.1093/zoolinnean/zlad170: 1–15, reported on molecular phylogeography and recognized two molecular lineages that are reproductively compatible, recognizing them as subspecies.
