Distribution

Sierra Nevada of California and extreme western Nevada (near Lake Tahoe), 4500–1200 ft. elevation south to its type locality in Inyo County, California, USA.

Zool., 54: 229. See comment under Rana muscosa. Vredenburg, Bingham, Knapp, Morgan, Moritz, and Wake, 2007, J. Zool., London, 271: 361–374, discussed the systematics of this species and its disappearance from large parts of its former range.
