Syntypes: BMNH (4 specimens); of which 3 remain, BMNH 1947.2.3.21–23 (formerly 1874.4.29.1412–1414), according to Bossuyt and Dubois, 2001, Zeylanica, 6: 26. BMNH 1947.2.2.21 designated lectotype by Dahanukar, Modak, Krutha, Nameer, Padhye, and Molur, 2016, J. Threatened Taxa, 8: 9237. Type locality: "Malabar", India. Biju, 2001, Occas. Publ. Indian Soc. Conserv. Biol., 1: 8, noted the imprecision of this type locality.
