Rhacophorus hainanus Zhao, Wang, and Shi In Zhao, Wang, Shi, Wu, and Zhao, 2005, Sichuan J. Zool., 24: 297. Holotype: HAINNU A0229, by original designation. Type locality: "Mt. Diaoluo, Lingshui Co., Hainan Prov., altitude 710 meters", China.

Northeastern Vietnam to southern Guizhou, western Guangxi, northern Guangdong, and montane Hainan Island, China.


 Yu, Rao, Matsui, and Yang, 2017, Sci. Rep. (Nature, London), 7 (16124): 1–13, redelimited the species and compared this species to other members of the Kurixalus odontotarsus complex, and noted that records of Kurixalus verrucosus from Xizang, China, are referrable to Kurixalus naso, and also noted two unnamed species in the Kachin, Myanmar, region.
