Distribution
Montane forests of northeastern India (known currently from Arunachal Pradesh, Megalaya, and Mizoram), adjacent eastern Xizang (China) and Samdrup District, Bhutan, and related but unnamed species in northern Myanmar (Kachin) and likely in adjacent Yunnan, China (see comment).

Synonymy with Rhacophorus appendiculatus verrucosus by Wolf, 1936, Bull. Raffles Mus., 12: 162, and Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 75. This synonymy accepted only provisionally by Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 374. This synonymy rejected, without comment, by Zhao and Adler, 1993, Herpetol. China: 158, Inger and Tan, 1996, Raffles Bull. Zool., 44: 567; Ye, Fei, and Hu, 1993, Rare and Economic Amph. China: 326. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 676-678, provided an account for China (as Aquixalus naso) and spot map. Mathew and Sen, 2008, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 108: 41-42, provided a record for Lunglei District, Arunachal Pradesh, India, and provided a photograph (as Rhacophorus naso). Das and Dutta, 2007, Hamadryad, 31: 154–181, noted no larval descriptions in the literature. Mathew and Sen, 2009, Cobra, Chennai, 2: 14-16, provided a record (as Philautus namdaphaensis) for the East Garo Hills District of Arunachal Pradesh, India, and commented on the range. Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 93-94, provided a brief characterization and a photograph. Distr.: 500, provided an account (as Aquixalus naso), photographs, and a range map for China. Yu, Rao, Matsui, and Yang, 2017, Sci. Rep. (Nature, London), 7 (16124): 1–13, noted that records of Kurixalus verrucosus from Xizang, China, are referable to Kurixalus naso, and also noted two unnamed species in the Kachin, Myanmar, region. Che, Jiang, Yan, and Zhang, 2020, Amph. Rept. Tibet: 335–339, provided a detailed account for Tibet, China. Wangyal, Bower, Sherub, Tshewang, Wangdi, Rinchen, Puntsho, Tashi, Koirala, Bhandari, Phuntsho, Koirala, Ghalley, Chaida, Tenzin, Powrel, Tshewang, Raika, Jamtsho, Kinley, Gyeltshen, Tashi, Nidup, Wangdi, Phuentsho, Norbu, Wangdi, Wangchuk, Tobgay, Dorji, and Das, 2020, Herpetol. Rev., 51: 793, identified a photograph as of this species from Bhutan. Lalronunga, Vanramliana, Lalramliana, and Lalhmingliani, 2021, Zootaxa, 4974: 385, suggested that Kurixalus yangi may be a synonym of Kurixalus naso. Shangpliang, Shadap, Hooroo, Nongkynrih, Kharkongor, Rangad, and Tron, 2021, Curr. Herpetol., Kyoto, 40: 137–150, described the larval development. Zug, 2022, Smithson. Contrib. Zool., 653: 41, briefly discussed identification, habitat, and range in Myanmar. Nanda and Saikia, 2023, Bull. Arunachal Forest Res., 37: 38–41, discussed the range and added a locality in Upper Subansiri District, Arunachal Pradesh, India.
