Orixalus Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021
Orixalus Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 256. Type species: Gracixalus nonggangensis Mo, Zhang, Luo, Zhou, and Chen, 2013, by original designation (although given in error as Chirixalus nonggangensis).
Common Names
None noted.
Distribution
Northeastern Myanmar, northwestern Thailand, through southeastern Yunnan, northeastern Guangxi and southern Hunan, China, and into northern and central Vietnam.
Comment
The sister taxon of Gracixalus (from which it was partitioned) according to the original publication, where morphological and molecular markers were noted. Mahony, Kamei, Brown, and Chan, 2024, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 74: 253, argued that nominal Orixalus is not morphologically diagnosable from Gracixalus (without discussing particulars) and returned it to the synonymy of Gracixalus.
