Philautus davidlabangi Matsui, 2009, Zool. Sci., Tokyo, 26: 438. Holotype: KUHE 19594, by original designation. Type locality: "Gunung Serapi, Matang Range, in the suburbs of Kuching, Sarawak (01° 36′ N, 110° 11′E, alt. 330 m a.s.l.)", Malaysia.

Known from the type locality (vicinity of Kuching, Sarawak) in the Matang Range, Bornean Malaysia, and from northeastern West Malaysia (Terengganu).

Endemic: Malaysia


In the Philautus aurifasciatus group according to the original publication. Quah, Badli-Sham, Rahman, Ahmad, and Chan, 2021, Herpetol. Notes, 14: 1181–1186, reported the species (genetically confirmed via mtDNA) from near Kenyir State Park, Terengganu, West Malaysia.
