Philautus kerangae Dring, 1987, Amphibia-Reptilia, 8: 28. Holotype: BMNH 1978.1771, by original designation. Type locality: "kerangas camp 200 m., Gunung Mulu N. P., Fourth Division, Sarawak", Malaysia, Borneo.

Distribution

Forests at elevations up to 1200 m in northern Sarawak; also recorded in southeastern Sarawak, Malaysia, on the Kalimantan (Indonesia) frontier at around 200 m elevation; Lampung, ca. 1 km north of Kubu Perahua, 790 m elevation, Sumatra, Indonesia (see comment).

Likely/Controversially Present: Brunei

In the Philautus vermiculatus group according to the original publication. See identification table by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 122-123, to compare this species to other rhacophorids of the Sunda Shelf region.
