Comment
In the Philautus aurifasciatus group and resurrected from the synonymy of Philautus aurifasciatus (where it had been placed by Inger, 1966, Fieldiana, Zool., 52: 341) by Dring, 1987, Amphibia-Reptilia, 8: 38–41. See comment under Philautus aurifasciatus. See brief account by Malkmus and Riede, 1996, Sauria, Berlin, 18: 27–37. See identification table by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 122–123, to compare this species to other rhacophorids of the Sunda Shelf region. Malkmus, Manthey, Vogel, Hoffmann, and Kosuch, 2002, Amph. Rept. Mount Kinabalu: 187–189, provided an account. Art. 32.5.2 (ICZN, 1999, Internatl. Code Zool. Nomencl., Ed. 4) restricts the exchange of ö for oe to German words; Mjöberg is Swedish. See statement of geographic range, habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 634. Sabah (Kina Balu), Malaysia, records have been assigned to Philautus nephophilus.
