Comment
The original publication detailed larval and adult morphology, reproductive biology, advertisement call, and molecular markers, and recovered the new species as the sister taxon of Philautus macroscelis. Detailed comparisons were made with other Bornean and Palawan Philautus. Haas, Das, Hertwig, Bublies, and Schulz-Schaeffer, 2022, Guide to the Tadpoles of Borneo: 367–369, summarized the knowledge of habitat, reproduction, larval morphology and coloration.
