Distribution
Known with certainty only from the headquarters region of the Kinabalu National Park in Sabah, Malaysia, where it is found at altitudes between 1,400 and 1,800 m; probably also to be found at similar altitudes in the neighboring Crocker Range.

Haas, Kueh, Joseph, bin Asri, Das, Hagmann, Schwander, and Hertwig, 2018, Evol. Syst., 2: 89–114, provided a brief account of morphology and natural history for the Sabah population.
