Raffles Mus., 12: 174. Some of the synonyms listed under Rhacophorus microtympanum may apply to this species. See Bossuyt and Dubois, 2001, Zeylanica, 6: 29, for a discussion of nomenclature and their interpretation of Article 59.3 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (1999). Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 207–210, provided an account and noted that this species resembles Pseudophilautus regius, Pseudophilautus stictomerus, and Pseudophilautus sarasinorum (as Philautus). Dutta, 1997, Amph. India Sri Lanka: 100–101, provided taxonomic notes, bibliography, and range. de Silva, 2009, Amph. Rep. Sri Lanka Photograph. Guide: 99, provided a brief account and color photograph. de Silva, 2009, Amph. Rep. Sri Lanka Photograph. Guide: 99, provided a brief account and color photograph.
