Resurrected from the synonymy of Rhacophorus microtympanum in the account by Dutta and Manamendra-Arachchi, 1996, Amph. Fauna Sri Lanka: 186, where it had been placed by Wolf, 1936, Bull. Raffles Mus., 12: 174. Some of the synonyms listed under Rhacophorus microtympanum may apply to this species.
