Comment

Removed from the synonym of Philautus leucorhinus by Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 230, where it had been placed by Kirtisinghe, 1957, Amph. Ceylon: 69. Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 230-232, provided an account and noted the inasmuch as this nominal species is known only from the lost holotype its status is questionable. Meegaskumbura, Manamendra-Arachchi, Bowatte, and Meegaskumbura, 2012, Zootaxa, 3229: 58-68, reported on a recent collection locality, provided an enhanced diagnosis, and suggested on the basis of molecular evidence a close relationship with Pseudophilautus simba.
