Comment

Inger and Dutta, 1987 "1986", J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc., 83 (Suppl.): 135–146, and Das, 2000, Curr. Herpetol., Kyoto, 19: 35–40 (who described two new specimens), resurrected Rhacophorus lateralis from the synonymy of Rhacophorus malabaricus, where it had been placed provisionally in synonymy by Wolf, 1936, Bull. Raffles Mus., 12: 214. Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 175, provided a brief account. Daniels, 2005, Amph. Peninsular India: 170–171, provided an account. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 540. Das and Dutta, 2007, Hamadryad, 31: 154–181, noted no larval descriptions in the literature. Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Gururaja, and Zachariah, 2010, J. Threatened Taxa, 2: 986–989, provided a range extension and discussed the range in the Western Ghats of southern India as well as documenting variation in color pattern. Biju, Kamei, Mahony, Thomas, Garg, Sircar, and Suyesh, 2013, Zootaxa, 3636: 257–289, provided an account, rediagnosed the taxon, redescribed the type, and discussed the range. A brief characterization, photograph, and dot map provided by Subramanian, Dinesh, and Radhakrishnan, 2013, Atlas of Endemic Amph. W. Ghats: 163. Sivaprasad, 2013, Common Amph. Kerala: 214–215, provided a brief account, photograph, and dot map for Kerala, India. Raj, 2023, J.
