Distribution

Known only from Medog county, Xizang, China, in humid shrublands, marshes, puddles, or slow-flowing ditches at elevations of 500–1700 m eleation.

The sister taxon of Rhacophorus rhodopus, and previously confused with Rhacophorus rhodopus and Rhacophorus bipunctatus according to the original publication, where comparative adult morphology and mtDNA markers were detailed.
