Distribution
Known from the type locality, near Tung Vai Commune in Ha Giang Province, northern-most Vietnam, 1320 to 1750 m elevation and nearby Fadou Township, Xichou County, Wenshan Prefecture, southeastern Yunnan, China, 1600 m elevation

Natural Resident: China, People's Republic of, Vietnam
Comment
The sister taxon of Theloderma bicolor, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology and molecular markers were detailed. Liu, Hou, Fan, Mo, and Rao, 2022, Herpetozoa, Wien, 35: 199–208, provided the genetically-confirmed record from Fadou Township, Xichou County, Wenshan Prefecture, southeastern Yunnan, China, 1600 m elevation.
