Type locality: "the forest near Tung Vai Commune, Quan Ba District, Ha Giang Province, northern Vietnam (20°47ʹ56ʹ’ N, 106°59ʹ52ʹ’ E, at an elevation of ca. 1245 m a.s.l.)". According to the original publication same subclade with Zhangixalus nigropunctatus, Zhangixalus yaoshanensis, Zhangixalus pinglongensis, and Zhangixalus chenfui.
