Common Names
Phou Samsoum Treefrog (original publication).
Distribution
Known only from the type locality in high-elevation montane evergreen forest of Phou Samsoum Mountain, Xiengkhouang Province, Laos; expected to be found in other mountain areas in the Houaphan, Xaisomboun, and Bolikhamxay provinces of Laos and adjacent Nghe An Province in Vietnam.

Comment
The sister species of Zhangixalus nigropunctatus, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology, molecular markers, acoustics, and natural history were detailed. Stuart, Seateun, Sivongxay, and Phimmachak, 2025 "2024", in Wildlife Lao PDR: 45, summarized (as Rhacophorus melanoleucus) literature, taxonomy, habitat, and detailed range for Laos.
