Comment
Type locality has subsequently been destroyed by a reservoir impoundment, according to Lue and Mou, 1984 "1983", Q. J. Taiwan Mus., 36: 16. See Zhao and Adler, 1993, Herpetol. China: 158, for dates of publication. Lue, Lai, and Chen, 1994, Herpetologica, 50: 303-308, compared this species with others from Taiwan as Rhacophorus smaragdinus. In the Rhacophorus (Rhacophorus) schlegelii group of Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 77; see comment under Rhacophorus for dissenting opinion regarding the recognition of this group. Chou, 1993, Asiat. Herpetol. Res., 5: 11-13, transferred this species to Polypedates, from the Rhacophorus schelegeli group. Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 282-284, provided a brief account, figure, and map. Wilkinson, Drewes, and Tatum, 2002, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 24: 265-273, presented molecular and morphological evidence for retaining this species in Rhacophorus. Lue, Tu, and Hsiang, 1999, Atlas Taiwan Amph. Rept.: 46-47, provided a brief account for Taiwan. See statement of geographic range, habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 635. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 830-834, provided an account, spot map, and considered this species a member of their Rhacophorus moltrechti group. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 467, provided a brief account including photograph. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 551, provided an account, photographs, and a range map. Guo, Yang, and Li, 2009, Colored Illust. Amph. Rept. Taiwan: 120–121, provided a brief account, photographs, and map.
