Distribution
Known only from the type locality (Y Ty Commune, Bat Xat District, Lao Cai Province, Northwestern Vietnam, 1883 m elevation); expected in adjacent Guangxi, China, on granitic substrates.

Comment
Comparative morphology, assignment to the Zhangixalus chenfui group, and the confusion in the literature of Zhangixalus dorsoviridis, Zhangixalus nigropunctatus, and Zhangixalus thaoae was detailed in the original publication.
