Comment

In the Onychodactylus japonicus complex and the sister taxon of Onychodactylus kinneburi, according to the original publication where comparative morphology and molecular markers were detailed. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 37–38, provided a detailed account, covering systematics, life history, distribution (including a polygon map), and conservation status.
