Bolitoglossa alvaradoi Taylor, 1954, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 36: 604. Holotype: KU 30484, by original designation. Type locality: "Moravia de Chirripo, [Cantón de Turrialba,] Limón Province, Costa Rica". Savage, 1974, Rev. Biol. Tropical, 22: 98, commented on the type locality.

Bolitoglossa arborescandens Taylor, 1954, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 36: 600. Holotype: KU 34925, by original designation. Type locality: "Moravia de Chirripo, [Cantón de Turrialba,] Limón Province, Costa Rica". Savage, 1974, Rev. Biol. Tropical, 22: 98, commented on the type locality. Synonymy by Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 130, who selected Bolitoglossa alvaradoi Taylor to have priority under Article 24.2 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (1999).
