Holotype: MUSM 42085, by original designation. Type locality: "collected along the 'Estanque trail' (09°36'59"S, 74° 56'05" W, 230 m above sea level) in the Private Conservation Area Panguana, lower Rio Yuyapichis, Puerto Inca Province, Huanuco Region, central Peru". Distribution

Genetically confirmed records include: (1) Private Conservation Area Panguana, Puerto Inca Province, Huanuco Region (type locality); (2) western slope of the Serrania de Sira, Puerto Inca Province, Huanuco Region, between 526 and 768 m elevation; (3) Situche Norte, Datem del Maraiion Province, Loreto Region, 230 m elevation, close to the border of Ecuador; and (4) Tambo Poyeni, Satipo Province, Junin Region, ca. 300 m elevation. These localities span an elevational range of 230–768 m; expected to occur in adjacent Ecuador.

A member of the Bolitoglossa adspersa species group, referred to previously as Bolitoglossa sp. 4 by Jaramillo-Martinez, De la Riva, Guayasamin, Chaparro Auza, Gagliardi-Urrutia, Gutiérrez, Brcko, Vilà, and Castroviejo-Fisher, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 149 (106841), and Herrera-Alva, Castillo-Urbina, Catenazzi, Fajardo, Ñacchan, and Aguilar-Puntriano, 2025, Zootaxa, 5594: 559-566), and as Bolitoglossa sp. 'Llullapichi' by López-Perilla, Fernández-Roldán, Meza-Joya, and Medina-Rangel, 2023, ZooKeys, 1158: 27–48), according to the original publication, where comparative morphology, molecular markers (mt- and nuDNA), and natural history were detailed.
