Distribution
Known only from the type locality on Cerro Chucantí in the Cordillera de Majé, Distrito de Chepigana, Provincia de Darién, Panama, 1424 m elevation.

In the Bolitoglossa (Eladinea) adspersa group according to the original publication. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 744–745, provided an account summarizing systematics, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map).
